IKAN Have Fun Bowling League – 2017 Quarter 3 – RESULTS

I finally have all the results from the third quarter (Q3: July-August-September 2017) of our “IKAN Have Fun Bowling League” where wheelchair users (and friends or family bowling with them) can compete from anywhere in the world.

If you compare the participation to our previous quarter (Q2) you will see that multiple folks were not able to participate as intended (myself included). But if you think about IKAN Bowler users being (primarily) people paralyzed from at least the chest down, it kind of underscores the fact that it is pretty great that we are able to bowl competitively in the first place.

Several of us had unforeseen circumstances prevent us from bowling as intended. For me it was a slow onset and slowly resolved health issue. But given that most of the participants (like me) are quadriplegics… perhaps this can serve as a reminder of how all of us should take advantage of the opportunities we have in life to do whatever we can and we choose. Anyway, here are the results…

Thank you to everyone who participated – and here’s to a great Q4! :-)

About billgator97

I started this blog to highlight how wheelchair users, especially power wheelchair users, are being empowered through sport, in particular: dynamic wheelchair bowling. It's actually bowling that emulates the able-bodied bowling process, i.e. setup, then physically approach and release the ball upon stopping short of the foul line. I happen to be paralyzed from my neck down, and ventilator-dependent, yet I've actually bowled 24 legitimate games of 200 or better. I say that NOT to brag, but to show what is possible and make the point that ANY wheelchair user who can safely operate their chair, they can bowl (I helped invent a device that makes it possible). Please look around and feel free to ask any questions! Thanks and God bless!
